Pastor Terry Jones was arrested on Wednesday in Polk
County, Florida for trying to burn copies of Qur'an.
Jones, 61, was arrested with charges of felony after
a traffic stop near a pharmacy in Polk County around 5 pm.
According to Jones’ website, he plans to burn 2,998 Qur'an in the Tampa Bay area on Wednesday. His arrest came only minutes
before the scheduled burning.
“I believe Islam
promotes violence and that Muslims want to impose sharia law in the
United States.” He authored a book titled, “Islam Is of the Devil.”
